MUMBAI – On the occasion of his 52nd birthday, hit-machine filmmaker Rohit Shetty has officially gifted fans the announcement they’ve been waiting for: Golmaal 5 is finally in production.

March 14, 2026, to share a special behind-the-scenes video confirming that filming had officially commenced. Reflecting on the franchise's 20-year journey, Shetty penned an emotional note:
"20 years ago, the first 'Golmaal' was released, a film that changed my life... So now, once again, my fabulous team and I are set on a journey to entertain you as we start filming G5."
A Massive Cast Shake-up
The announcement video sent shockwaves through social media by revealing a blockbuster addition to the "Golmaal" gang. While Ajay Devgn returns to lead his iconic squad, the fifth installment introduces superstar Akshay Kumar to the franchise.
In the promo, Akshay is seen sporting a striking bald look, dark sunglasses, and a black kurta, hinting at a character that will bring a fresh layer of "madness" to the series. Akshay shared the video on his own handle, writing, "On your birthday, the madness just got bigger and louder. Excited to be joining this crazy family!"

In a move that delighted purists of the 2006 original Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Sharman Joshi is officially returning to the franchise after nearly two decades. He joins the recurring ensemble of:
